About us

Built by the people who run the leagues

School Esports was built independently by people with years of experience running national school esports competitions as a solution for the leagues they run every week.

Why we built this

Running a national school esports league used to mean countless hours setting up react roles in Discord, explaining what Discord was to new teachers, managing two hundred different spreadsheets, and an exhausted coordinator chasing scores at 10pm.

We lived that, and eventually we were tired of having no better options because generic tournament platforms didn't understand what teachers and schools needed. So we built the platform we needed: one where teachers approve every student, every message is visible to staff, and matches largely run themselves. It now powers all of our own competitions, and we've made it available to federations and school leagues worldwide.

We believe that school esports is the key to sustainable esports and the best pathway for national adoption of esports. Our mission is to empower as many schools as possible to participate in safe, well-organized esports competitions.

What we stand for

Three promises to every school

Students first, always

Safeguarding and student experience is at the heart of every feature.

Teachers are partners

Teachers choose how involved to be. The platform carries the admin load so educators can focus on students.

Built by organisers

Every update comes from insights we gain by running our own national tournaments, so we know exactly what works and what updates are needed.

The journey

From one league to a global platform

The problem

School leagues held together with tape

Our first school competitions grew fast, but our tools didn't keep up. Discord, spreadsheets, and manual scheduling hit their limits.

The build

A platform designed around teachers

We couldn't find a tournament tool that included teachers. Generic esports platforms left us needing to use multiple sites just to patch together a solution. We built the platform we needed: one where teachers are always in the loop, student safety is core, and students have the freedom to enjoy esports.

The proof

2,870 matches, 87.3% with no admin needed

Across a full season from April to July 2026, the platform proves that school esports can largely run itself.
